2007 bay gelding
Ransom is the first gelding we decided to keep back for ourselves. We usually have everything for sale and ride what is left when we are down to one or two. When halter breaking, he was just so much like his sire that I knew he would be fantastic and a perfect match for me.
We sent him off to be started under saddle in the spring of his 3yr old year with plans to ranch on him through the summer and fall. A training deal gone sour, he was never ridden but maybe 3 times. My husband and I got him started ourselves and rode him on and off through the fall for about 30 days. He was just so willing and smart that he never required constant riding and we had too much going on to keep him ridden.
 I went to riding him again in the summer of 2011 and with less than 60 days under saddle, he placed 6th at an open horse show in western pleasure in July (just to let him see the sights). He is also loping a very correct barrel pattern. My plans are to keep showing him through the summer and futurity him next fall.
We are also keeping back the full brother to Ransom Just Another Promise.
