Welcome to Grazing Bit Performance Horses. We are pleased to be able to offer a nice selection of prospects suitable for barrel racing, roping and the race track. We purchase mares that have proven pedigrees, great conformation and wonderful dispositions and expect them to produce the same. Most are own daughters of Champions featuring the bloodlines of A Classic Dash, First Down Dash, Special Effort, Toltac, Coronas Leaving You, Stoli, Ivory James, Special Leader, Corona Cartel, First Wrangler, The Signature, Royal Quick Flash and many more.
VF Burrs Eye was the head of our breeding program for several years. We are still ranching and competing on his offspring and still get regular feedback from customers that are riding babies by him. Vegas had a disposition that was second to none. He was well balanced and had the heavy bone structure to breed soundness into his offspring. His foals are eligible for the VGBRA & 5-State Breeders Barrel FuturitiesFor more information on VF Burrs Eye please see his own page.
FlitYeahImaFirewater was our first successful AI attempt. I admired his sire and knew he was one of the nicest sons of Fire Water Flit standing. He had a proven female family, producing multiple barrel winners. Gunner is out of a favorite mare we used to own. A AA multiple race winning daughter of leading barrel sire/broodmare sire-Shoot Yeah. He was the fastest qualifier going into the All American Futurity and the only favorite ever scratched due to illness. We are riding this colt around the ranch and really like what we are seeing in the arena. Smart, sensible and very quiet.
Our horses are raised out in big pastures where they learn to travel and grow as nature intended. They are brought in at weaning to halter break and then are worked with during the winter. In the spring, the colts are castrated and everything is turned out to pasture to be a horse until they are ready to be started under saddle. We usually start them as 2 yr olds in the fall so they are ready to calve on as 3 yr olds come spring.
Horses we've raised and or sold have gone on to be excellent rope and ranch horses as well as barrel racing winners. Some of them include;
*Six Duster (2nd picture), a filly we sold in 2005, picked up checks at the major 1D's and futurities in 2007. She also placed 5th in the 1st round at the Red Desert Derby in 2008.
